Fred has been Chief Executive of Bank Workers Charity since January 2003. He spent 33 years in retail and corporate banking roles at Lloyds Banking Group as a City and West End bank manager, a corporate relationship director and as head of product marketing for corporate banking service products.
Wide experience of strategic planning and change management helped Fred to drive the charity to improve its impact and realise its potential. Under his leadership BWC has transformed the way the charity supports clients with a range of new offerings. Fred has worked with colleagues to develop a focus on wellbeing in the work place, retired people and more generally increased breadth to deliver value to many and the depth to change lives.
During his time at Lloyds Fred was responsible for one of the first on line banking products for corporate customers in the UK and has always had an interest in technology based services. Fred is very excited about the prospects for digital services and social investment, particularly in new technologies and mental health services.
As a grandfather - his son has a 13 year old daughter and his daughter has a three year old daughter and a five year old son - Fred knows all about families. Fred loves to travel and also likes to spend time in his large garden which he took on by upsizing in a house move in 2013.
